Suit Up

For a modern Christmas or New Year's Eve look, consider sporting a tailored jacket this season. This is the perfect occasion to experiment with trendy colors like burgundy red, chocolate brown or olive green for a contemporary twist. You can also try out fabrics like velvet and tweed for an extra seasonal touch.

I love to add a lace camisole or a silky blouse underneath to bring back some femininity into the look. Pair your jacket with matching trousers for a full-suit ensemble that’s effortlessly on-point.

Dresses that Dazzle

You can never go wrong with a festive party dress this time of year. The classic little black dress is a wardrobe staple that you can effortlessly transform for Christmas or NYE with sparkling accessories and a fun pair of heels.

For holiday sophistication at its finest, reach for dresses in luxe fabrics like tweed, velvet or silk. These materials are refined and perfectly suited to the festive season.

And for those of you who truly love to shine, a sequin or metallic dress is a no-brainer, especially if you’re ringing in the New Year. I personally love this metallic mini from Maje that you can wear throughout the holiday season.

If you have any winter weddings on your calendar, keep an eye out for dresses that you could wear to parties and ceremonies.

Stylish Separates

These chic separates make holiday dressing incredibly easy. Mix and match for multiple holiday outfits with just a few key pieces! If you have a lot of holiday gatherings this year, this approach will simplify your outfit planning all while saving you money on your holiday wardrobe. A win-win.

Need some inspiration on how to pair these pieces? My go-to combo is a silky blouse with tailored trousers—smart, simple, and so chic. Another festive formula is a cozy cashmere sweater with metallic or leather jeans. This one is my favorite for casual get-togethers around the holiday season.

For dressier affairs, you can’t go wrong with a satin midi skirt and a wool turtleneck. Play with seasonal textures by pairing a sequined top with wool pants or a lacey blouse with velvet pants.

Standout Shoes

No party outfit is complete without the perfect pair of shoes. For the girls who like to keep it classic, try kitten heels, Mary Janes, or knee-high boots. I love these options since they’re likely already in your closet! If you want your shoes to stand out, I’d recommend metallic ballet flats, velvet mules or feather-embellished pumps for that final touch of glamour. Don’t forget to break in your shoes before your holiday events so you can stay comfortable—especially if you’re dancing the night away.

Chic Clutches

The right bag is essential for completing your holiday look. For festive gatherings, I tend to reach for a shoulder bag or small clutch to carry my essentials. Nothing too oversized or distracting.

If your holiday outfit is feeling a bit too simple, reach for a bold bag to make a statement. Something metallic or embellished is always a win during this time of year. I’m planning to wear my gold metallic shoulder bag from Sandro to a few holiday pop-ups this December.

Anything with feathers, ribbon, mesh or beading is going to add that missing touch of glamor to your holiday party look.

Finishing Touches

My favorite part of holiday dressing? Adding the icing…that is to say, statement accessories! Some of my favorite party picks include oversized earrings, a velvet hair bow, or colorful tights—all of which can transform a simple outfit into a showstopper.

Consider metallic and jewel-toned accessories that complement your seasonal color palette too. I have a spring coloring, so during party season, I reach for a lot of gold jewelry to brighten up my warm complexion.

Full Glam

To complete your holiday style, we can’t forget about makeup. Whether it’s a bold red lip or a shimmery eye look, this is my favorite time of year to step out of my comfort zone and try something new. To go a bit more glam than my day-to-day makeup, I add some highlighter for that holiday glow. I also like to contour my face so that I look perfectly sculpted in all of my holiday photos. Setting spray is also a must for keeping my makeup in place all day and night!
