Everyone has been talking about Sézane’s new rebrand and their accompanying fall collection. And it’s getting a lot of mixed reviews.
The French fashion label is typically known for its romantic, vintage-inspired pieces and timeless wardrobe staples. Lots of delicate lace, dreamy florals with a dose of smart Parisian prep that built the brand’s whole cult following.
But in their latest campaign, Sézane took large steps outside of its DNA with lots of minimalist, boxy styles. It’s leaning further into modern and sculptural than romantic and whimsical. Even the more simple pieces felt somehow more trendy.
There are, however, some great gems in this fall 2026 collection. Below, I’m sharing my top picks to buy this season.
And if the new drop isn’t inspiring you, loyal Sézane lovers, there are still all of the same classic pieces from the label that you can rely on for its older aesthetic.
The Recent Rebrand
Sézane recently marked its 20th anniversary, though the math is a little loose. Founder Morgane Sézalory didn’t actually launch Sézane until 2013. The 20 years counts back to when she started selling vintage finds online under the name Les Composantes.
As part of the rebrand, Sézane’s new website launched on August 18th, complete with a fresh logo and design. They also wiped their entire Instagram feed, leaving only 25 posts, all previewing the latest fall 2026 lookbook.
Sézalory also said she wants to slow down, releasing one collection per month with fewer, higher-quality pieces made from better materials. Going forward, it’s essentially about returning to the brand’s earlier roots. This also seems to bring small price increases too.
Sézane’s Fall 2026 Campaign
The first lookbook dropped with plain white studio backgrounds and flatlays, a first for Sézane, which has always leaned on lifestyle shots. I always loved the campaigns with models wandering around Paris. As a creator, I’ll admit the flatlays are genuinely useful. You can see a piece without any of the extra fluff around it. Sometimes that’s exactly what you want.
Stylistically, though, it was a real shift. Less floral, less lace, less of that vintage-inspired femininity Sézane is known for. In its place: cleaner lines and more minimalist, balloon-y silhouettes that a lot of people (myself included) clocked as giving major COS. I’d throw Arket and H&M into that comparison too. Among French names, the new aesthetic also reads a lot like Soeur Paris.
Not everyone was thrilled. A lot of longtime fans said it didn’t feel like Sézane anymore.
Sézane came out with a second fall campaign on Sunday, and it’s already a noticeable course correction. The aesthetic feels more like classic Sézane again, which is a good sign. That said, the dramatic, oversized silhouettes are still here, and there are fewer of the dainty prints and lace blouses the brand built its reputation on.
Overall, the styling is stronger than round one. But the pricing is the biggest elephant in the room, and plenty of people online are questioning whether this whole “rebrand” is really just cover for raising prices.
My Top Picks From the Fall 2026 Collection
SéZane
Fernand Coat
This coat is my favorite pick from Sézane’s new campaign. The dramatic high collar and wide belt give it that sculptural, elevated look that I can’t stop thinking about.
SéZane
Emilie Shirt
This is the one piece in the whole drop that still feels like old Sézane: ruffled sleeves, lots of lace. I’m layering it under the season’s oversized coats for an easy dose of texture without trying too hard.
SéZane
Theodora Boots
Knee-high boots in buttery bovine leather with a walkable 2.8 inch heel. What more do you want? I have a feeling I’ll own the glossy chocolate pair by the end of the season.
SéZane
Robb Jacket
If Sézane’s Carter jacket has been on your radar, this one deserves a look too. I’m picturing it thrown over everything from jeans to trousers on the days I want warmth without the bulk of a full coat
SéZane
Suzanne Cardigan
Cardigans with real shape are having a major moment in Sézane’s fall collection, but this one plays it easy: a relaxed knit I can throw over a tee and call it a day.
SéZane
Jena Skirt
Lace-trim, silky pieces keep trending this fall, and this one comes in a stunning red. I’m wearing it on loop with boots and a chunky sweater straight through October.
SéZane
Elise Cardigan
Cardigans with a defined waist are undoubtedly the season’s biggest knitwear trend. Sézane’s spin is my favorite I’ve seen yet, with an adjustable drawstring waist and the sweetest scalloping along the neckline and hem.
SéZane
Usis Trousers
Every fall wardrobe needs one tailored trouser that just works, and this is it. No tricks, no trend chasing, just a clean silhouette. Comes in black and beige.
SéZane
Will Jacket
Over ten colorways, and I still can’t pick a favorite: wool plaid, camel suede, velvet, denim, take your pick. I’m leaning toward this rich chocolate leather for the kind of layering piece that outlives the trend cycle entirely.
SéZane
Orlane Skirt
An A-line silhouette that’s part of a strong showing of longer skirts this season. Sézane’s Orlane styles were a sellout favorite last year, and this season’s colors keep that momentum going.
SéZane
Jonas Coat
The Jonas Coat is a classic Sézane piece, but I was instantly swooning over this brick red hue. Just one of the standout colors in their fall collection.
SéZane
Gary Maxi Bag
This is the bag that’s going to work overtime in my fall wardrobe. The silhouette stays sleek despite the generous size, which is the balance so many maxi bags get wrong.
SéZane
Tomboy Shirt
Everyone needs one button-down that does everything, and the Tomboy shirt is Sézane’s answer. Tailored enough for the office, relaxed enough for weekends, and available in plenty of colors and patterns.
SéZane
Solange Mules
A pared-back mule that doesn’t ask for much attention and doesn’t need to. I’ll wear these from desk to dinner without a second thought.
SéZane
Valentine Jacket
This jacket showed up in a punchy yellow in the new campaign, and I’m here for it. Let it be the whole outfit and keep everything else simple. The added scarf detail does all of the talking.
SéZane
Le Droit Jeans
An iconic straight-leg jean, in a classic blue, built to be the pair you reach for without thinking. If you’re in need of new denim for fall, I’d consider these.
SéZane
Pierce Coat
Everyone needs a classic trench in their fall wardrobe, no question. This one skips the sculptural drama of the rest of the collection in favor of pure, wear-forever simplicity.
SéZane
Marceau Loafers
Suede loafers are set to be a major trend for fall 2026, and this chocolate brown pair delivers without trying too hard.
SéZane
Malo Cardigan
Sézane is known for it’s cozy cardigans, and this is another one to add to your cart. I’d style it over simple tees and pants when I want warmth without committing to a full statement coat.
SéZane
Paule Tote Bag
An extra large tote bag that’s perfect for a weekend trip this fall. It instantly reminded me of the bags from Rue de Verneuil with the thin line tracing the edges of the bag. J’adore.
