The French expression “coup de cœur” translates as ‘favorite’ in English and is used to describe something of strong personal affection or interest. In this month’s Coup de Cœur post, I’m sharing my favorites from November 2023.
Jonak suede boots. Suede seems to be everywhere this season, and I’m absolutely loving it. These heeled boots from Jonak are a recent purchase that I’ve been wearing on repeat this month. They are incredibly comfortable and truly elevate my day-to-day looks without being too dressy. I’m also obsessed with the camel color. As someone with a warm spring color palette, it’s difficult for me to find bright, warm pieces during the winter that suit my complexion. Dark gray and black seem to be everywhere. But these boots are the perfect shade of brown.
Press-on nails. I’ve used press-on nails on and off throughout the years, but recently, they've become a bi-weekly staple for me. The quality is outstanding, and what I love most is the significant time and money I save. I personally never used to get regular manicures at a nail salon, but I have friends who spend hundreds of dollars a month to maintain their manicure. I guess I’m just a bit frugal when it comes to these things, but I’m very happy with the results of press-ons nails. I’d highly recommend giving them a try if you’re looking to save on your beauty routine.
Hair accessories. I don’t know if it's the season or my recent binge-watch of Gossip Girl, but I've noticed hair accessories everywhere lately — from the classic tortoise headbands à la Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy to vibrant velvet bows. My current obsession? This camel headband has been a favorite of mine this month. It’s a bit preppy with a touch of chic and timeless allure. For the upcoming holiday season, I'm eyeing these barrettes or considering a velvet headband like one from Loeffler Randall, to add to my collection.
Clear rotating organizer. I remember asking for a clear cosmetic organizer from The Container Stores for Christmas when I was in high school. Acrylic organizers seemed to be incredibly popular at the time. Recently, while searching for new storage solutions for my skincare products, I came across this acrylic rotating organizer on Amazon. It neatly holds all of my bottles and jars, and as a result, I’ve saved so much space on my vanity. It’s been a standout addition to my space this November.
The Woman in Me by Britney Spears. Did anyone else rush to read Britney’s memoir? I read this book within a day, but it is one of my favorite books from November. I wouldn't consider myself a die-hard Britney fan, but I’ve always felt pretty familiar with her story. This memoir really surprised me with lots of new insights about her life, career and struggle with her conservatorship. I highly suggest giving it a read, especially if you love pop culture. P.S. I listened to it for free on Spotify.
