The French expression “coup de cœur” translates as ‘favorite’ in English and is used to describe something of strong personal affection or interest. In this month’s Coup de Cœur post, I’m sharing my favorites from June 2023.
Linen mini dress. This month, I attended a garden party for my boyfriend’s birthday, and I wore a beautiful linen mini dress similar to this button-front mini from Anthropologie (mine is an old dress from Zara). I’m obsessed with feminine linen dresses like these for the summer months. Casual, yet elegant, they are perfect for almost any daytime occasion. I paired my dress with this gorgeous pair of strappy sandals for an effortlessly chic look.
Intimissimi Satin Kimono. Since I spend most days at home, I decided to purchase this lovely satin kimono from Intimissimi that I could wear during the hotter months. It quickly became my favorite piece to wear this June while lounging (and sometimes working) at home. I particularly love the beautiful shades of blue incorporated into this robe. P.S. for more ideas on how to look elegant at home, check out my recent post that features this kimono.
Dainty initial necklace. I’ve been searching for a small gold necklace that I can wear everyday. This month I found this dainty initial necklace from Etsy that is perfect for a classic jewelry collection. Plus it was under $20! I’ve been wearing mine daily, and so far I’m very impressed with the quality.
Caudalie Fig Body Oil. During my weekend trip to Colmar, I came across this fig body oil from Caudalie. The gorgeous packaging caught my attention, but the delicate scent of ripe figs prompted me to buy it. It feels so luxurious while also hydrating my skin and leaving a subtle glow. It has a lightweight texture that absorbs effortlessly, making it a perfect for summer months. This will definitely be my go-to this season.
Nights of Cabiria (1957). This month I watched Nights of Cabiria, a classic film directed by Federico Fellini. This Italian masterpiece takes us on a poignant journey with Cabiria, a resilient and endearing streetwalker in Rome in search of true love and happiness. It is widely regarded as one of the greatest Italian films of all time with its captivating storytelling and exceptional performances. A must-watch for any cinema fans.
NYT Cooking. One of my 2023 resolutions is to cook more. To help me with this goal, I subscribed to NYT Cooking this month. Their digital platform has an extensive collection of recipes including (my favorite) easy weeknight dinners. This month I made Gochujang Caramel Cookies, Coconut-Gochujang Glazed Chicken, Summer Pasta With Zucchini, Ricotta and Basil and Strawberry Spoon Cake. Each recipe was absolutely delicious and easy to make.
Tender Is The Night. This month I read Tender Is The Night, the iconic novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald that explores the intricate lives of a group of expatriates living on the French Riviera during the 1920s. It captures the essence of the Jazz Age and explores themes of love, ambition, and the dark undercurrents of the human psyche. A darker, thought-provoking read that is perfect for summer.
