The French expression “coup de cœur” translates as ‘favorite’ in English and is used to describe something of strong personal affection or interest. In this month’s Coup de Cœur post, I’m sharing my favorites from August 2023.

Zara denim. I've been a devoted admirer of COS jeans for quite some time. However, I've recently come across rave reviews about Zara's denim collection and decided to give them a try this month. I opted for a pair of their High-Rise Stove Pipe Jeans in white, and I must say, I'm genuinely impressed with the quality, particularly given their wallet-friendly price point (under 30 euros). If you're on the hunt for a couple of new additions to your autumn wardrobe, I highly recommend exploring Zara's jeans selection. I also have my sights set on adding a pair of their High-Waisted Flare Jeans to my closet this season.

Lightweight cardigans. This month, the weather has been quite unpredictable, and during the cooler days, I've been thoroughly enjoying slipping into a lightweight cardigan. I've noticed cardigans all over my Pinterest feed recently, and I love how effortlessly chic they appear when paired with basic trousers and a comfy shoe, such as a ballet flat. I recently purchased this basic brown cardigan from Revolve as well as this merino cardigan in off white from Uniqlo, and I must say, I'm quite satisfied with both selections. As the temperatures continue to drop, I anticipate transitioning to thicker, cozier cashmere options.

Illamasqua Color Veil Blush in Entice. I've been gradually updating my makeup routine by adding products that complement my fair, neutral-toned skin. Being a Warm Spring, I've been gravitating towards shades like peach, coral, and apricot. This month, I decided to try the Illamasqua Color Veil Blush in Entice, after searching for the products used in this inspiration photo. I'm completely obsessed by how well it complements my complexion. In the past, I used Charlotte Tilbury's Pillow Talk lipstick, but I found that its cool undertones didn't quite suit me. If you're in the market for a fresh cream blush, I highly recommend giving this one a try!

At-home lash lift. This month, I decided to give at-home lash perming a try in preparation for my upcoming trips. Intrigued by this lash kit I kept seeing on my TikTok feed, I ordered it from Amazon and decided to give it a try. I'm usually not one to label products as 'life-changing,' but this one truly surprised me. My lashes are naturally short and blonde, and I used to struggle to keep them curled. After using this kit, my lashes stay beautifully curled all day long, and they appear naturally fuller even without mascara. I'll definitely be incorporating this into my “high-maintenance to stay low-maintenance” beauty routine.

Travel essentials. August was a month filled with travel, so I decided to invest in some travel essentials. To streamline my packing process, I organized my toiletries and purchased compact bottles for my must-have beauty products. While I had considered purchasing the travel containers I'd been eyeing from Cadence, I ultimately decided on a more basic toiletries kit from Amazon, and it has pleasantly exceeded my expectations. I also invested in some practical packing cubes, which have been invaluable in keeping my luggage well-organized.

Philips Set Your Life To Music series. Since I’ve been moving a lot this month, I haven’t had much time to read or watch many new films or series, so I thought I’d share a long-time favorite of mine, which is the Philips Set Your Life To Music series. ‘Bach At Bedtime’, ‘Mozart For Meditation’ and ‘Tchaikovsky at Tea Time’ are just a few of the albums in the series that are a lovely way to enjoy classical music in your daily life. I frequently go back to these albums when I’m in the mood of some nice music during my day-to-day activities. You can listen most of the albums for free on Spotify

What are your coups de cœur from August? Let me know in the comments below.
